US President Donald Trump has said that one or two targets linked to Iran's nuclear programme still remain to be struck. Speaking to reporters at his Florida residence after a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, he claimed Iran's nuclear capability has already been destroyed. He said the remaining targets include a suspected nuclear site called "Pickaxe Mountain," but that the United States is not in a hurry to take further military action immediately.

Trump said talks with Iran to end the war that began in late February are moving in a positive direction, but that Iran cannot be fully trusted. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the president has not decided on further strikes and is prioritizing diplomacy. US media have reported that Washington has added air-defence systems, ammunition and military equipment to West Asia in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is reported to have directed military commanders to respond to any potential US or Israeli threat. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said talks on opening the Strait of Hormuz are underway through Qatari mediators, but that the waterway would open only if the United States accepts Tehran's conditions. Al Jazeera reported that Iran's security chief Mohsen Rezaee has reviewed a letter from US Vice President JD Vance, in which the American tone has somewhat shifted.
