Trump names intelligence chief Clayton to lead White House AI task force

US President Donald Trump has put National Intelligence Director Jay Clayton in charge of the White House task force on artificial intelligence. The appointment, made on Sunday, comes as researchers warn of the potential risks of AI technology.
Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that Clayton has been given charge of a "Super Intelligence Force." According to Trump, the task force will coordinate the AI efforts of various federal government agencies.
Trump said the United States must remain at the forefront in super intelligence. He noted that many people consider the technology a bigger change than the Industrial Revolution and the internet. Trump said super intelligence will protect and serve the interests of all Americans and improve their lives.
Meanwhile, the White House on Saturday appointed reporter Benny Ray Harmony as spokesperson and assistant press secretary. Harmony was previously White House correspondent for Real America's Voice and was also a regular member of the press pool. He is taking up the post from Monday.
