Floods caused by the Narayani River have damaged 1,150 metres of embankment built along the riverbank on the Chitwan side.

The damage occurred in the section from the Narayani River bridge westward to Golaghat, within Bharatpur Metropolitan City. A large part of the embankment built along the riverbank has been severely damaged by the flood.

Embankments are structures built to prevent river erosion and protect riverside areas from floods. In recent days, floods in rivers following rainfall in various parts of the country have been causing damage in several districts.
