Bhotekoshi flood: 1,453 bodies found so far, 4,718 still missing

Police say 1,453 bodies had been found by 5 am Sunday following the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi river in Rasuwa. 4,718 people are still missing.

Among the bodies recovered, 236 were found in Rasuwa, 204 in Nuwakot and 72 in Dhading. The rest were found in other districts.

The flood, which struck on the morning of Bhadau 10, caused damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other districts. Saturday marked one month since the flood occurred. Relatives of the missing are still waiting for news of the search.

Meanwhile, three Nepali organizations based in the United States have handed over $226,000 in relief assistance for flood victims to Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal.
