Land ownership certificates are not political promises but a right of the landless: Minister Rawal

Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal has said that landless Dalits, squatters (sukumbasi) and unmanaged settlers receiving lalpurja is not a political promise but their right. She made the remarks during a discussion held in Chitwan on Monday.
Minister Rawal said that delays in lalpurja distribution have caused landless people and squatters to suffer for a long time. She said the government is committed to providing them with lalpurja as soon as possible, and urged local levels and the land problem resolution committee to expedite the process.
Minister Rawal also said that after Dashain-Tihar, the government would accelerate efforts to resolve the problems of landless citizens and to return the savings of cooperative victims.
During the discussion, local residents presented their problems and grievances to the minister.
