Pratap Subedi appointed Nepse CEO, Pitambar Bhandari to lead deposit and credit guarantee fund

The government has appointed Pratap Subedi as chief executive officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse). The decision was made at Tuesday's Cabinet meeting, based on the recommendation of a selection committee formed by the Ministry of Finance.
The same Cabinet meeting also decided to appoint Pitambar Bhandari as CEO of the Deposit and Credit Guarantee Fund, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance.
The government had earlier appointed Rajan Bikram Thapa as chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. With these decisions, three financial sector bodies have received new leadership at once.
After earlier scrapping a large batch of appointments made all at once in public and state-owned enterprises, the government has recently begun appointing leaders to regulatory and other bodies one after another.
