Rajan Bikram Thapa appointed chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority

The government has appointed Rajan Bikram Thapa as chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. The decision to hand him leadership of the authority was made by the Cabinet meeting.

The Ministry of Finance had formed a selection committee to choose the chairman. The Cabinet appointed Thapa based on the recommendation of that committee.

Before this appointment, Thapa was serving as executive director at Nepal Rastra Bank. He will now head the regulatory body that oversees the country's insurance sector.

The Nepal Insurance Authority is the regulatory body for the insurance sector. Various media outlets have reported on the government decision to give Thapa this responsibility following the selection committee's recommendation.
