Budhigandaki flood: 186 rescued, including 31 foreigners; around a thousand still stranded, says TAAN

The Nepal Army has rescued 186 people, including 31 foreign nationals, from the area affected by the flood in the Budhigandaki River. The flood struck the Budhigandaki River on Asoj 25.
Meanwhile, the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) has issued a notice saying that more than 400 foreign tourists and around 600 of their support staff are stranded. According to TAAN, close to a thousand tourists and support staff are awaiting rescue.
It took at least four hours for the flood to reach the Budhigandaki after a landslide blocked the river. Local residents, having learned lessons from the Rasuwagadhi flood, immediately alerted people downstream, which helped save the lives of many along the Budhigandaki banks.
Rescue operations are continuing for those stranded in the flood-affected area.
