Blood donation programs were organized in Dhankuta and Chitwan on Tuesday to mark the 71st Police Day.

In Dhankuta, 20 people donated blood at the District Police Office premises in collaboration with the blood transfusion unit of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences. Deputy Superintendent of Police Hemant Bhandari Chhetri inaugurated the program by handing over blood bags. The collected blood will be kept at Dhankuta's blood transfusion center.

In Chitwan, Nepal Police School Shantipur gathered 71 blood donors, matching the day's number. The program, coordinated between Chitwan District Police Office and the local branch of Nepal Red Cross Society, saw blood donated by parents, teachers, police personnel and representatives of local organizations.

On the occasion, educational materials were distributed to 30 children under the care of the Police-Citizen Partnership organization, who also received free health and blood tests with technical support from Chitwan Everest Hospital and Sagarmatha Lab.

This year's Police Day is being observed under the main slogan "Sarathi in disaster, shelter in crisis, a technology-equipped Nepal Police."
