After India banned carrying power banks on flights connected to the country, Nepal Airlines Corporation has also implemented the rule on Nepal-India flights.

According to an aeronautical information circular from India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation, power banks are completely prohibited in any form — cabin baggage, checked baggage or cargo — on domestic flights within India as well as flights arriving in and departing from India.

According to the corporation, the circular specifically bans the Mobiking MK-PB-04 model power bank. The corporation has requested all passengers flying from Nepal to India and from India to Nepal not to carry any power bank with them.

A few days ago, a power bank in a passenger's bag caught fire and exploded aboard an IndiGo Airlines flight from the Indian capital Delhi to the southern city of Chennai. Following the incident, the aircraft made an emergency landing at Hyderabad airport.
