Trump: Russia and China will lose a lot if they are helping Iran

US President Donald Trump has said he does not believe claims that Russia and China are helping Iran, warning that both countries would lose a great deal if they were doing so.

Writing on the social media platform Truth Social on Monday, he criticized those making such claims as hardline leftists. According to Trump, even if assistance were being given, it would likely be at a very small scale, and the US would quickly find out if such help were occurring.

Last week, Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a roughly ninety-minute phone call discussing economic cooperation, energy supply and international issues. According to Trump, Russia subsequently agreed to immediately send more than 300,000 tonnes of diesel to US and global markets and to provide further supplies in the coming months, which he said would lower diesel prices.
