In Bhaktapur's Taleju temple, living goddess Ekanta Kumari applies Dashain tika to public

On Vijaya Dashami, Wednesday, local residents received tika, jamara and prasad from the hands of the living goddess Ekanta Kumari at Bhaktapur's Taleju temple.
On the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, locals gathered at Bhaktapur's Taleju temple to receive tika from the Kumari, who is worshipped there as a living goddess. Just as tika, jamara and prasad are received from elders, this tradition of receiving them from the living goddess's hands continues in Bhaktapur on Vijaya Dashami.
Similarly, on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami, Taleju Bhawani was brought inside the deity house.
On Vijaya Dashami, the main day of Bada Dashain, there is a tradition across the country of receiving tika, jamara and blessings from elders. In Bhaktapur, however, locals participate on this day by receiving tika, jamara and prasad from the hands of the living goddess Kumari at Taleju. This year too, the tradition of receiving tika from Ekanta Kumari herself continued in Bhaktapur on Vijaya Dashami.
