Ambassador-designate to India Pandey pledges to resolve border issues 'on the spot'

The ambassadors-designate to India and China have said they will work according to government policy. Dr. Nishchal Nath Pandey, proposed as ambassador to India, and Kalyan Raj Sharma, proposed as ambassador to China, presented their views before the parliamentary hearing committee on Monday.
Pandey pledged to work to resolve border problems "on the spot" whenever they arise. He also committed to initiating efforts for the repatriation of Bhutanese refugees.
However, Pandey avoided questions on the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and the Nepal-India Eminent Persons Group (EPG) report. He also remained silent on the prime minister's statement regarding the border.
Sharma, the ambassador-designate to China, said his priorities include advancing the Rasuwagadhi Bridge, the Syafrubesi-Rasuwagadhi road, the Araniko Highway, and the Kathmandu Ring Road.
