Iranian president tells Putin a deal with US is not impossible

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that reaching a peace agreement with the United States is not impossible.
According to Iran's Fars news agency, he expressed this view during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The conversation between the two leaders focused on the US and Israel's war against Iran.
According to Fars, Pezeshkian said Iran is fully ready for a balanced and just agreement that would ensure long-term peace and security in the region.
He described the national interests and rights of the Iranian people as Iran's "red line," meaning a limit that would not be crossed.
He said reaching an agreement between the two countries is not impossible, provided the US adheres to the framework laid out by international law.
President Pezeshkian also said Iran is ready to work together with neighboring countries to maintain regional peace, adding that the presence or intervention of countries outside the region is not necessary for this.
Russian President Putin, for his part, stressed that the US and Israel must compensate for the damage caused by the war. Putin said Iran must be given long-term security guarantees to ensure such an attack is not repeated in the future.
