Maoists sought cooperation with the king before first Constituent Assembly polls, claims Kamal Thapa

Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader and former deputy prime minister Kamal Thapa has claimed that the then Nepali Communist Party (Maoist) sought cooperation with the king before the first Constituent Assembly election in 2064 BS.
According to Thapa, two weeks before the election, then top Maoist leaders Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Baburam Bhattarai proposed working with the king to form a government under Maoist leadership.
Thapa made the claim public through his new book, 'Reimagining Nepal.'
The source news reports do not mention any response from the concerned parties to the claim made in the book.
