Government invites proposals to set up green urea plant with annual capacity of 500,000 metric tonnes

The government has moved forward the process of establishing an industry to produce green urea fertilizer commercially within Nepal.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment has invited proposals from interested parties to set up a green urea plant with an annual capacity of about 500,000 metric tonnes.
Nepal has so far met its chemical fertilizer needs through imports. The ministry has called for proposals to establish the industry with the aim of producing urea domestically.
With the call for proposals, the process of setting up the green urea industry has formally moved forward. The ministry has said the proposed plant will be established to operate on a commercial basis.
