RSP directs members not to exchange gifts during festivals

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has directed its leaders and cadres not to accept or give gifts while exchanging greetings during Bada Dashain, Tihar, Nepal Sambat and Chhath festivals.

The directive was made public through a greeting message issued by party general secretary Bipin Kumar Acharya on Asoj 31. General secretary Acharya recalled that the RSP has discouraged gift exchange during festivals since its founding.

In his view, the goodwill, blessings and trust that politicians receive from citizens are themselves the greatest gift in politics. Acharya said the core message of festivals is selfless love, mutual goodwill and warmth.

He said he expects everyone's support and cooperation in establishing a cultured political tradition. In the message, Acharya also extended festival greetings to all Nepalis at home and abroad.
