National team forward Bimal Gharti Magar retires from football

National football team forward Bimal Gharti Magar has announced his retirement from football.

The 28-year-old made his decision public through a message on Facebook. He wrote that the journey that began from Butwal, passing through Kathmandu to reach the national team, had been long and difficult.

He wrote that whenever he played for the country, he played from the heart, and that he had given everything to football. Saying he felt emotional about taking this decision, he thanked well-wishers and football fans for their love and support.

Gharti Magar got the opportunity to play for the national team in 2012 at the age of 14. He has scored 9 international goals for the national team. He has been residing in Australia for some time.
