Budget dispute disrupts Sudurpashchim provincial assembly, opposition demands government's resignation on the floor

The main opposition Nepali Congress has disrupted the Sudurpashchim provincial assembly meeting over a dispute concerning the fiscal year 2083/84 budget.
The provincial assembly session, convening after about a month, was adjourned without even taking up its regular agenda. Following the disruption, the meeting was suspended for half an hour.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the budget, lawmakers from the opposition parties, including the Nepali Congress, raised slogans on the floor of the house and demanded the government's resignation. The meeting could not proceed with its business because of the opposition's obstruction.
The dispute over the province's budget remains unresolved.
