Supreme Court issues show-cause order on writ by rejected ambassador nominee Chudamani Kharel

Chudamani Kharel, whom the government had recommended as ambassador to Malaysia, has approached the Supreme Court after the parliamentary hearing committee rejected his nomination.

Kharel filed the writ at the Supreme Court seeking legal remedy, saying the committee had treated him unjustly. He has demanded that the committee's decision be annulled.

In the writ, Kharel has named the Federal Parliament Secretariat, among others, as defendants. According to Ratopati, the Supreme Court has issued a show-cause order on the writ.
