Trump says big deal to end Russia-Ukraine war could come soon

US President Donald Trump has said a big deal to end the Russia-Ukraine war could happen soon.

He expressed this view after meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the White House.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, President Trump said parties other than Ukraine would also be involved in the deal. He claimed it could encompass the whole of Europe and that all parties would be excited.

However, he did not disclose the main points of the agreement, the countries that would take part, or what Russia and Ukraine would need to agree to. He also acknowledged that he did not meet the Ukrainian delegation visiting Washington on Thursday.
