Deuba alleges financial dealings behind Congress authenticity dispute

Nepali Congress former president and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused that financial dealings took place in the dispute over the party's authenticity. He made the allegation while speaking at the inauguration of the Kathmandu district convention organized by the Deuba faction at the National Hall in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Deuba questioned the claim of a transaction worth Rs 180 million. "Inam Sapkota has said it was 18 crore rupees. Is that small money?" he said. "They bought the party with that money. Should we now go about selling the party for money?"
He said he had asked party president Gagan Thapa to hold the general convention on time, but a special convention was instead held while he was abroad. He also expressed confidence that the courts would deliver justice on the question of the party's authenticity.
Deuba grew agitated at the event when a journalist asked him, "Are you the Congress president, or is it Gagan?"
