Inam Sapkota's statement stirs Congress; Chairman Gagan Thapa meets Oli in Gundu

Nepali Congress Chairman Gagan Thapa went to Gundu and met CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The meeting took place at a time when the statement given by Inam Sapkota, who is in police custody, has stirred controversy within the Congress.

Reports have emerged that in the statement given to police, Sapkota mentioned that financial dealings took place when Chairman Thapa sought to secure the party's official authority. This triggered the stir within the Congress.

Soon after the audio related to the statement became public, Co-general Secretary Ajay Babu Shivakoti, who is seen as close to Chairman Thapa, objected, calling it a move to put Gagan Thapa on the defensive.

Meanwhile, Gen Z leaders have demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations linked to the audio, WhatsApp messages and statement that have surfaced in the Inam Sapkota case. They have demanded that the investigation cover everyone from Balen to Gagan.

Gen Z activist Raksha Bam also demanded on Facebook on Tuesday an impartial investigation into all individuals and senior officials linked to the case, saying no one involved should be exempt from investigation.
