Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Berlin, the German capital, on Tuesday to rally international support against Russia's invasion.

Writing on the social media platform X, he said the visit would include discussions on diplomatic coordination, strengthening air defense, and cooperation in the energy sector.

The visit coincides with a security and defense conference due to be inaugurated by Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda. Zelensky said defending the rules-based international order was a shared interest for all.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has already announced plans to convene a meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing," the group of Ukraine's allied nations, in mid-November.

US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff has announced that trilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on November 10 and 11. He said the talks would cover ending the war, post-war security arrangements, de-escalation measures and humanitarian assistance.

According to Reuters, Witkoff and Jared Kushner will be the lead negotiators for the United States. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to join the talks after meeting Witkoff in St Petersburg.

Before that, US negotiators are scheduled to meet representatives of France, Germany, Britain, the European Union and NATO in Brussels this week to discuss security guarantees and reconstruction for Ukraine.
