Labor Culture Party holds mass meeting in Kakarbhitta, pledges land for squatters

Labor Culture Party Chairman Harka Sampang Rai has said that on the day his party comes to power, it will make proper arrangements for land and housing for landless squatters.

He made the pledge while addressing a mass meeting organized by the party in Kakarbhitta, Mechinagar Municipality-6, Jhapa, on Tuesday. Chairman Rai accused the current government of not being serious and appearing irresponsible on resolving the squatter problem. He said that since his party is not in government, it has so far only been able to raise its voice on the issue. He also claimed the Labor Culture Party remains firmly in favor of the rights of laborers and poor people.

Chairman Rai claimed that party cadres are proving their political objective through work itself, by volunteering labor for the poor in various parts of the country.

At the mass meeting, he also raised the issue of Jhapa residents having long endured the terror of wild elephants, and demanded that the government ensure protection of life and property for locals and all citizens facing elephant attacks.

After the Kakarbhitta meeting concluded, the party held another meeting the same day in Arjundhara, also in Jhapa, where Chairman Rai said the country would become happy and prosperous only through productive work and respect for labor.
