Citizenship certificate copies can now be obtained from any district, rules amended

People will no longer need to go to the same district administration office to get a copy of their citizenship certificate. After the government issued the Nepal Citizenship (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 2083, copies can now be obtained from other districts as well.
The Home Ministry said the amended rules were issued with the aim of making citizenship certificate services easier and more technology-friendly.
Previously, a copy of a citizenship certificate had to be obtained from the same district administration office that had issued the original certificate. Under the new provision, service seekers will be able to get a copy from any district.
With the amendment to the rules, citizens living outside their home district will no longer be required to travel to that district just to obtain a copy.
