Rain that fell throughout Friday has increased the risk of disrupting both matches scheduled for Saturday in the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

According to the schedule, Lumbini Lions will face Chitwan Rhinos in the first match, while Biratnagar Kings and Sudurpashchim Royals will compete in the second.

Meteorologist Ujjwal Upadhyaya said light rain is likely to continue until Saturday evening, making it unlikely that the matches will be held. He noted that the weather had been favorable for Thursday's match.

Rain that began late Thursday night in Kathmandu had not stopped throughout Friday. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the rain is being caused by the remnants of Cyclone Arnab combined with a partial effect of westerly winds.

The department has forecast moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many places in Bagmati province on Saturday, with the possibility of heavy rain in one or two locations in Bagmati. The department's latest forecast puts the chance of rain in Kathmandu at 80 percent.

According to the department, this effect will gradually decrease from Saturday afternoon onward.
