PM Shah announces policy review to take Nepali gaming industry to global market

Prime Minister Balendra Shah (Balen) has said the government will introduce policy reforms and tax relief to develop and expand the game development and information technology (IT) industry. He made the government's plan for the sector public on Kartik 14.
The government is set to review existing policies, regulations and the business environment to make Nepal's gaming and IT industry competitive in the international market. PM Shah said policy review and groundwork had already begun to develop and facilitate the gaming and IT sector as an industry.
Citing the examples of the games 'Ludo' and 'Call Break', the prime minister said the government would bring in a policy to establish the Nepali gaming industry in the global market. He said policies in this sector would be reviewed with the goal of making Nepal a 'global unicorn'.
The government said it has put forward this plan with the aim of simplifying the game development sector.
