Rastra Bank to sell gold and silver coins today and tomorrow, ID mandatory for buyers

Nepal Rastra Bank has started selling gold (asarfi) and silver (medallion) coins from today. The coins will be available for purchase over two days, today and tomorrow.

The coins will be sold from the Tankshala Mahashakha in Babarmahal from 11 am to 3 pm.

The Rastra Bank has said that anyone wishing to buy the coins must bring documents proving their identity. Buyers must be present in person at the Tankshala Mahashakha with a copy of their Nepali citizenship certificate, national identity card, or other certificate bearing an identification number.

The Rastra Bank sells gold and silver coins through its Tankshala Mahashakha. Anyone who goes without an identity document will not be able to buy the coins. The bank has therefore said that interested persons should reach the Tankshala Mahashakha with the required documents within the specified time.
