The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) project through which Nepal Oil Corporation is bringing all its operations onto a single digital system has reached its final stage.

According to project chief Pradeep Kumar Yadav, with the implementation of the first phase of the project, which costs around Rs 228.7 million, fuel procurement, sales, distribution, storage, finance, accounts and staff management have begun operating through the digital system.

After the consultant, Kathmandu University's University Consult, submitted its report on Kartik 17, the corporation has moved ahead with closing out and handing over the project. The consultant's assessment states that around 88 percent of the project's functional requirements have been met.

More than 1,500 dealers, 60 bottlers, and airlines and their agents across the country will now be able to request fuel online, make digital payments and view transaction details without having to visit the depot in person.

The corporation, which conducts transactions worth around Rs 300 billion a year, is moving toward fully paperless and transparent operations. It has also put forward plans to build a data centre and incorporate AI into the system.
