Floods and landslides fully block Gorkha-Dhading road; four stretches one-way, Galaundi reopens both ways

Floods and landslides have affected major highways and roads in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Nepal Police released details as of 6 am Tuesday, according to which the Gorkha-Dhading road section is completely blocked.
According to police, highways at four other locations are operating only one-way. Police said vehicular movement on various road sections has been disrupted due to the disaster.
A severe flood in the Budhigandaki River has damaged various sections of the Benighat-Arughat-Larke road. This has cut off road connectivity to Chumnubri and Dharche rural municipalities in northern Gorkha.
Meanwhile, vehicles have resumed moving in both directions on the Galaundi section of the Prithvi Highway since 6:30 am today. Traffic was reopened both ways after slope-cutting work on that section was completed.
