Congress heads to Election Commission to update new central working committee

The Nepali Congress has begun preparations to get the Election Commission to update the details of its new central working committee elected at the 15th general convention.
The convention elected a new 231-member working committee including 20 office-bearers. The office-bearers and central members took their oath and assumed responsibility on Thursday.
According to acting chief secretary at the central office, Krishna Prasad Dulal, work is underway to complete the necessary documents and procedures required to approach the commission. He said the party would go to the commission only once preparations are complete, but did not specify a date.
Meanwhile, the group led by former president Sher Bahadur Deuba has rejected the new working committee led by Gagan Thapa. The Deuba group had already announced earlier that it would hold its own 15th general convention in Mangsir.
