President Paudel issues two ordinances amending forest and land laws

President Ramchandra Paudel issued two ordinances on Tuesday. The ordinances were issued under Article 114(1) of the Constitution of Nepal, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.

The ordinances issued are the "Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Relating to Forests, 2083" and the "Ordinance to Amend Certain Nepal Acts Relating to Land, 2083." President's Office spokesperson Shyam Prasad Bhandari confirmed the issuance of the ordinances.

The government had recommended that the President issue three ordinances, of which two have now been issued.

Following the issuance of the ordinances, Minister Rawal said the legal obstacle hindering the resolution of problems faced by landless Dalits, squatters and unmanaged settlers has been removed.
