IMF projects limited economic growth for Nepal

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that Nepal's economic growth rate will be limited to around 3.6 percent in 2026.
This is stated in the World Economic Outlook report released by the Fund in October. According to the report, Nepal's growth rate in 2025 is estimated at around 4.4 percent.
In 2027, however, the IMF expects a modest improvement, with growth reaching around 3.7 percent. This means Nepal's economic growth is set to remain below 4 percent for the next two years.
Consumer inflation is projected to fall from around 4.1 percent in 2025 to around 3.1 percent in 2026. However, the Fund estimates that inflation will rise again to around 5.8 percent in 2027.
