Case filed against 97, including ex-PM Madhav Nepal, over Rs 730 million land swap scam

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 97 people, including former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal. Former minister Rijal has also been named in the case.

The case has been filed against them on the charge of swapping and selling public land worth Rs 734.9 million that the government had already decided to confiscate. The case concerns a decision made during Madhav Kumar Nepal's tenure as prime minister.

Nepal, who currently serves as co-coordinator of the CPN (Unified Socialist), departed for South Korea on the very day the corruption case was filed against him.

A large number of people, including a former prime minister and a former minister, have been implicated together in this case concerning public land.
