US recalls all bombers from Fairford military base in Britain

The United States has withdrawn all of its bombers from the Fairford military base in Britain. A foreign ministry official has confirmed that the US bombers have been returned to the United States from the British air base.

Fairford, about 160 kilometres west of London, had around a dozen B-1 bombers stationed there. These aircraft had recently been used in US operations against Iran.

The move follows a serious incident being investigated by the counter-terrorism police.
