Budhigandaki flood leaves nearly 5,000 homes in northern Gorkha without power

Floods in the Budhigandaki River have left nearly 5,000 households in northern Gorkha without electricity.
On Sunday, the Budhigandaki saw flooding from the Ungilung stream in Chumanubri Rural Municipality-6. The flood swept away a micro hydropower project that had been supplying electricity to the area, cutting power to thousands of households.
Following the flood, residents of northern Gorkha have been forced to live without electricity. Various areas along the banks of the Budhigandaki River have been affected by the flooding.
