Gold price drops by about Rs 400 per tola
The price of hallmarked gold fell by Rs 400 per tola in the Nepali market on Sunday, Kartik 1.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations, hallmarked gold is being traded at about Rs 289,700 per tola today. This price refers to gold bearing a hallmark certification.
On the previous trading day, Friday, the price of gold stood at about Rs 290,100 per tola. On Friday, the price of gold had risen by about Rs 1,700 per tola.
Along with gold, the price of silver also fell by Rs 50 per tola to about Rs 4,100 per tola today, the federation said. On Friday, silver had traded at about Rs 4,150 per tola.
In the international market, gold is trading today at about $4,166 per ounce.
Nepal Rastra Bank has fixed today's buying rate for one US dollar at Rs 151.64 and the selling rate at Rs 152.24.
