Government collects nearly 100 percent of revenue target in Asoj

The government collected 99.8 percent of its targeted revenue in Asoj of the current fiscal year 2083/84.
According to the Ministry of Finance, against a target of collecting about Rs 115.41 billion in Asoj, around Rs 115.19 billion was actually collected.
In Asoj last year, nearly Rs 84.41 billion had been collected, meaning this year's collection is about Rs 30.78 billion higher.
The ministry said increased consumption during the festival season and an improvement in market demand helped meet the monthly target.
During this period, there were also disruptions from floods and landslides, obstructions at land ports on the Chinese border, and some days of systemic problems at the Birgunj border point.
On Asoj 30 alone, about Rs 3.79 billion in revenue was collected in a single day.
As of Asoj 30, total collection for the quarter stood at about Rs 299.77 billion, which is nearly 90.8 percent of the quarterly target of about Rs 330.22 billion.
The government has set an annual revenue collection target of about Rs 1,580.32 billion for this year.
