'We haven't become special beings just by winning one election': RSP chairman Lamichhane

Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has warned the party's lawmakers, leaders and cadres not to turn the mandate they received from the people into a means of flaunting power or arrogance toward citizens. He said this in Chitwan on Friday.
Lamichhane urged that the mandate given by citizens must not be used in a way that insults the very citizens who gave it. "We have won one election. We are not people who dropped in from another planet. We are people of this same society, this same land. We must not forget this," he said. He also said that winning 182 seats does not give the party license to get carried away or lose touch with the ground.
Lamichhane also urged against statements and actions that weaken state institutions, including the judiciary. He said that pressuring the police to seek revenge would not get anyone far.
