Nepal Communist Party quits Madhesh government, four ministers resign

The Nepal Communist Party (Nekpa) has pulled out of the Madhesh Province government as the process of forming a new ruling coalition in the province moves forward. Following a decision by Nekpa's parliamentary party at a virtual meeting to quit the government, four party ministers submitted their resignations to the province chief on Friday.
Nekpa has also withdrawn the support it had extended to the government. A letter withdrawing support was handed to the province chief.
With Nekpa exiting after the UML, the Congress-led government under Chief Minister Yadav has fallen into deeper crisis. Parties in the province are searching for a new coalition to form the government.
Meanwhile, Janamat Party chairman Dr. C.K. Raut has said his party will not join the Madhesh provincial government until the next provincial election. He made the statement in a Facebook post on Friday.
