Army blasts away boulder, Khandbari-Kimathanka road reopens after three months

The Khandbari-Kimathanka road section in Sankhuwasabha, which had been blocked for three months, resumed operation from Monday evening. The road reopened after efforts by the Nepal Army.
A huge boulder that fell along with a landslide at Chhumsur in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-2 had blocked the road. Vehicles started moving on the road again after the Nepal Army blasted away the boulder.
The road, which connects to the Kimathanka border point on the northern border with China, is considered a "lifeline" linking Nepal and China. This strategically important road section had been blocked for the past three months.
After the road remained blocked for a long time, the Army carried out the necessary work and brought it back into operation.
