TikTok removes more than 2 million videos from Nepal in three months

Social media platform TikTok has said it removed about 2,036,000 videos from Nepal in the three months from April to June this year.
According to the company's quarterly report released on Thursday, the videos violated community guidelines. The removed videos accounted for about 0.4 percent of all videos posted on TikTok from Nepal during that period, the report said. It noted that around 99.5 percent of these videos were identified and removed before anyone reported them.
TikTok said about 92.3 percent of rule-violating videos were removed within 24 hours. After re-review, about 33,500 videos were restored.
Globally, TikTok removed about 188.3 million videos during the same period, roughly 0.5 percent of all content posted on the platform. Of these, about 183.3 million videos were removed with the help of automated detection technology.
