Home Minister Gurung meets Indian counterpart Shah in New Delhi

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung held bilateral talks with India's Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting between the two countries' home ministers took place during the first BIMSTEC home ministers' level meeting held in New Delhi, India.

BIMSTEC is the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation. This was the first meeting at the home minister level under the regional grouping.

During the meeting, Home Minister Gurung proposed forming a joint task force under BIMSTEC for disaster management. He also stressed the need to develop a BIMSTEC regional disaster preparedness and response framework.
