Congress won't give election certificate to Vinita Khadka, arrested in fraud case

The Nepali Congress will not issue an election certificate to central member candidate Vinita Khadka. The party has removed Khadka's name from the list of elected members.

Khadka was arrested on charges of fraud over sending caregivers to Israel. She had been elected as a central member in the election held under the party's 15th general convention.

It had been reported that the Congress election committee would deliberate on whether to issue her an election certificate. Following that, party officials have announced the decision not to give her the certificate and to remove her name from the list of elected members.

Vote counting and the announcement of results for various positions under the Congress's 15th general convention are still ongoing.
