Light rain, snow likely in mountains; Tarai, valley to see morning fog; cyclone Murasu's effect minimal

Due to the partial effect of a westerly wind, light rain and snow are likely at one or two locations in the mountain and hill regions of the country on Monday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology's weather forecasting division. Light rain is also possible at one or two places in the Tarai region of Lumbini Province.
The division has said the weather will remain partly cloudy across the country, with fog expected in the morning at some locations in the Tarai, valley, and low-lying areas.
On Tuesday, rain and snow are likely at a few locations in the mountain and hill regions of Koshi Province. On Wednesday, scattered light rain and snow are also possible in the mountain and hill areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki.
Among major cities, Kathmandu's temperature is expected to range from 12 to 14 degrees Celsius, Pokhara's from 15 to 17 degrees, and Janakpur's from 20 to 22 degrees Celsius. The chance of rain in these cities is zero percent.
Meanwhile, the division has said in a special bulletin that cyclone Murasu, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, will not have a significant effect on Nepal's weather. The cyclone is expected to make landfall on the southern coast of Andhra Pradesh, India, on Kartik 17.
After rain and snowfall a few days ago due to cyclone Arnab, the country's weather is now gradually clearing.
