Accusations have intensified between former President Barack Obama and President Donald Trump ahead of the US midterm elections on November 3.

According to Reuters, Obama addressed campaign rallies in Cleveland, Ohio, and Detroit, Michigan, on Saturday in support of Democratic candidates. He accused the Trump administration of corruption, policy failures and focusing on unnecessary issues.

Obama also accused Trump of going to any length to win elections, including turning sensitive personal matters into political weapons. In Ohio, he strongly objected to an election advertisement by Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Speaking in support of Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Obama said a "circuit breaker" was needed to hold the government accountable. He claimed the Iran nuclear deal reached during his term had kept Iran's nuclear program in check without firing a single missile.

In response, Trump called Obama an incompetent president on social media platform Truth Social, accusing him of giving Iran billions of dollars. According to Trump, that money gave Iran the opportunity to advance toward nuclear weapons.
