Dadeldhura youth takes up painting to fund his studies

Deepak Bhattarai, 19, of Amargadhi Municipality-7 in Dadeldhura, has been working as a painter to fund his studies. He took up the work about seven months ago, after passing grade 12 and enrolling in a bachelor's program, and now saves 25,000 rupees a month from it.
As the eldest son in his family, Deepak says he cannot rely solely on his family for support, since his parents are engaged in farming and his younger brother is also studying. Though balancing study and work is not easy, he aims to continue both for the sake of his future.
Shivaraj Bhattarai, from the same ward, has also been earning from painting for six years. He initially took up the work only in his free time but has now made it his main occupation.
