Parliamentary panel to verify facts on complaints against ambassador nominee Sunar

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has placed under special watch the complaints filed against Giri Bahadur Sunar, who has been nominated as ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The committee had called in the complainant last Monday and held confidential discussions on the matter.

Two complaints have been filed against Sunar. One accuses him of violence and threats against a woman, while the other alleges financial irregularities linked to his political affiliation. The committee has also spoken with the woman victim regarding the complaints.

Following the discussions, the committee decided to seek relevant details and verify the facts.

Meanwhile, the committee has continued hearings for ambassador nominees. At a meeting held on Asoj 26 under the chairmanship of committee chairperson Bodhnarayan Shrestha, hearings were held for five ambassador nominees.
