RSP MP Kharel: lawmakers do not take orders from any single individual

Ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party MP Jagadish Kharel has said that the party's lawmakers do not act on the instructions of any one individual.

Speaking at an interview program organized by Reporters' Club Nepal in Kathmandu on Wednesday, he claimed that every MP works actively according to their own capacity and judgment. He said that when a ruling-party MP gives suggestions to the government or pressures it to fix weaknesses, that should not be seen as an attempt to topple the government.

MP Kharel objected to statements from opposition parties saying they would bring down the government through a movement after Tihar and Chhath. He clarified that during his visit to India, he had only expressed sentiments of goodwill and friendship.

He said nationalism cannot be strengthened merely by criticizing a neighbor, and that the border dispute with India should be resolved through diplomatic dialogue. MP Kharel also said the RSP is ready to move forward responsibly and will not engage in politics of abusing opposition parties.
